2009 Dodge Durango Hybrid Overview
No one can argue that the price of gas has made an impact on their budget. And, no one will tell you that carbon dioxide emissions are good for the environment. Get ready to spend less on gas while and make Mother Nature proud, while staying rugged and spacious with the all-new 2009 Dodge Durango Hybrid.

Dodge did the right thing by taking a popular model and making it more efficient to keep the SUV fan base and attract those wary of gas-guzzling behemoths. Fuel efficiency is up 40 percent for city driving compared to the gas-only Durango, from 13 MPG to 19 MPG. Highway mileage is unchanged at 19 MPG. The Durango Hybrid is just as powerful as the Durango, and incorporates a 2-Mode Hybrid 5.7-liter, 399-horsepower Hemi V-8 which lets you tow up to 6,000 pounds. The first mode allows the electric motor to power the Durango Hybrid at low speeds and then the Hemi kicks in and handles the tough stuff. The Regenerative Braking System recharges the battery while you brake so you don’t have to plug the Durango into an outlet.

Take your family on road trips with three rows of seats for up to eight passengers. Or fold the seats and pack your gear into 102 cubic feet of cargo space. That translates to best-in-class interior room and best-in-class cargo room. Just because your engine is cutting-edge doesn’t mean that the rest of the Durango Hybrid isn’t. The available Uconnect system handles everything from music, GPS, phone/Bluetooth, satellite radio and internet connectivity. Two Alpine® Premium Sound Systems with eight speakers are optional depending on how loud you like it.

The Durango Hybrid is approximately $4,000 more than the gas-only version, but $8,000 less than the Chevy Tahoe Hybrid. If that doesn’t convince you to go for the Durango Hybrid, then maybe Uncle Sam can. The government is issuing tax credits up to $2,000 for qualified buyers that purchase a new Durango Hybrid.

Safety comes standard with Electronic Stability Program, which is designed to help drivers maintain control during extreme steering maneuvers. All-wheel drive transfers power when it detects wheel slippage and four-wheel-disc antilock brakes are there to prevent accidents.

Join the fuel efficiency revolution and feel good doing it with the all-new 2009 Dodge Durango Hybrid.
