Dodge Charger vs. Mercury Grand Marquis Review

Performance
With that kind of horsepower, the Charger is a genuine sports car. As far as horsepower, the Dodge Charger packs quite a wallop and will knock the Mercury Grand Marquis down a few rungs. However, keep in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With their comparable turning circles, the Charger and the Mercury Grand Marquis likely handle almost the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Dodge's engine is tremendously smaller than the Mercury Grand Marquis's. Keep in mind that smaller engines can be stressed more; however, smaller engines are often cheaper to fix. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Mercury Grand Marquis is substantially more powerful than the Dodge Charger. Torque equals pickup, and the Mercury Grand Marquis will have picked up and gone by the time the Dodge Charger finally gets moving.

Utility
Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the Mercury Grand Marquis over the Dodge Charger. The Dodge Charger outpulls the Mercury Grand Marquis by a large margin.

Convenience
You most definitely won't have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the Mercury Grand Marquis than with the Dodge Charger, because both offer comparable mileage ranges.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Mercury Grand Marquis offers a bit more head room than the Dodge Charger, there honestly isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Dodge Charger offers a bit more head- and leg-room than the Mercury Grand Marquis, there frankly isn't much of a difference.

Dimensions
The Mercury is substantially more bulky than the Dodge Charger. The Dodge Charger and the Mercury Grand Marquis compete for the same parking spaces.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Dodge Charger is substantially cheaper to get to the dealership than the Mercury Grand Marquis. Producing an accurate gas mileage evaluation is so tough that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though both the Dodge and the Dodge perform roughly comparably regarding fuel economy. As far as MSRP, the Dodge costs almost as much as the Mercury Grand Marquis (though the Mercury Grand Marquis is somewhat cheaper).

The Dodge Charger and the Mercury Grand Marquis have the same basic after-sale protection.
