Dodge Charger vs. Lexus IS 250 Review

Performance
In terms of horsepower, the Dodge packs quite a punch and will knock the Lexus down a few rungs. However, note that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums. With that kind of horsepower, the Dodge is a genuine speedster.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Lexus is most certainly sprier than the Charger, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the other hand, keep in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Lexus IS 250 and the Dodge have similar-sized engines, with a slight advantage to the Dodge. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Charger isn't much more powerful than the Lexus IS 250.

Utility
Neither the Lexus IS 250 nor the Dodge Charger has a marked advantage as far as seating capacity.

Convenience
The Dodge Charger's fuel tank will need to be replenished a tad more often than the unit in the Lexus IS 250.

Comfort
Taller drivers will significantly enjoy the extra head room in the Dodge Charger's front cabin compared to the Lexus IS 250. The Dodge Charger offers more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Lexus IS 250 does.

Dimensions
The IS 250's tank is approximately the same size as the Dodge Charger's, though the Dodge Charger's is slightly bigger. The Lexus and the Dodge Charger compete for the same parking spaces. The Dodge Charger's longer wheelbase will likely result in a smoother, more stable ride; however, the Lexus IS 250 may give a more agile feel in daily traffic.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Dodge Charger is significantly cheaper to get to the dealership than the IS 250. Regarding fuel economy, the Lexus IS 250 bests the Dodge. Producing a precise fuel economy evaluation is so tough that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though both the Lexus and the Lexus perform roughly comparably with respect to gas mileage. Regarding MSRP, the IS 250 costs considerably more than the Charger.

Warranty
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the Dodge Charger isn't quite as generous as the IS 250's.
