Dodge Charger vs. Cadillac CTS Review

Performance
As far as horsepower, the Dodge Charger packs quite a wallop and will knock the CTS down a few rungs. However, remember that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Cadillac CTS is doubtless sprier than the Dodge Charger, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the other hand, remember that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Dodge Charger has a more massive engine than the Cadillac CTS. Remember that smaller engines typically get better gas mileage, but a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder. The Charger packs quite a punch compared to the Cadillac CTS regarding torque, which is roughly equivalent to acceleration. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the Dodge is tremendously more powerful than the Cadillac CTS.

Utility
The Charger's more sizeable trunk will accommodate more big items than the CTS. The Dodge Charger and the Cadillac CTS can accommodate the same number of passengers. The Dodge outpulls the Cadillac by a big margin.

Convenience
The Cadillac CTS's fuel tank will need to be replenished somewhat more often than the unit in the Charger.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the CTS offers a bit more head room than the Charger, there frankly isn't much of a difference. The ampler interior dimensions of the Dodge Charger make it markedly more spacious for your passengers than the Cadillac.

Dimensions
The Dodge Charger is quite a bit more ponderous than the Cadillac CTS. The Cadillac CTS's tank is roughly the same size as the Dodge Charger's, though the Dodge Charger's is slightly more capacious. The Cadillac CTS rides lower than the Dodge Charger, which is a good thing for its center of gravity and ease of access. The CTS and the Dodge Charger compete for the same parking spaces.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs roughly the same to get the Dodge Charger to the dealership as the Cadillac CTS. The Cadillac CTS won't save you much money at the pump compared to the Dodge Charger. The Cadillac CTS isn't much costlier than the Dodge Charger in terms of MSRP.

Overview
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the Dodge Charger isn't quite as generous as the CTS's.
