The Mazda MAZDA6's engine is significantly bigger than the Dodge Caliber's. Note that larger engines may use more gas than smaller ones. Torque equals pickup, and the Mazda MAZDA6 will have picked up and gone by the time the Dodge finally gets moving. The Dodge Caliber could learn a lesson or two from the Mazda MAZDA6 as far as pickup.

The Dodge Caliber and the Mazda MAZDA6 can accommodate the same number of passengers.

The Dodge's fuel tank will need to be replenished more often than the unit in the Mazda MAZDA6.

Taller drivers will substantially enjoy the extra head room in the Dodge Caliber's front cabin compared to the Mazda. While the rear of the Mazda MAZDA6 provides a bit more head- and leg-room than the Dodge Caliber, there frankly isn't much of a difference.

The Dodge rides lower than the Mazda MAZDA6, which is a good thing for its center of gravity and ease of access. The Caliber and the Mazda MAZDA6 compete for the same parking spaces.

The Mazda MAZDA6 pales in comparison to the Dodge Caliber regarding fuel economy. With respect to MSRP, the Mazda costs significantly more than the Dodge.
