You most definitely won't have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the Dodge Caliber than with the Ford Focus, because both offer similar mileage ranges.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the Caliber to the dealership as the Focus. The Dodge Caliber doesn't pale in comparison to the Ford Focus with respect to gas mileage. Producing an exact gas mileage evaluation is so tough that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though the Focus is the winner with respect to fuel economy. The Dodge Caliber isn't much more expensive than the Ford Focus regarding MSRP.

Handling
With their comparable turning circles, the Ford and the Caliber quite certainly handle almost the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Caliber and the Ford Focus have similar-sized engines, with a slight advantage to the Ford Focus. The Dodge Caliber has no lessons to learn as far as torque from the Ford Focus.

While the front cabin in the Dodge Caliber offers a bit more head room than the Ford Focus, there really isn't much of a difference. The Dodge Caliber is not particularly more spacious for your passengers than the Ford Focus.
