With their similar turning circles, the Volkswagen and the Dodge Avenger most certainly handle approximately the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The GLI's engine is considerably smaller than the Dodge Avenger's. Note that a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder; on the flip side, smaller engines typically get better gas mileage. The Dodge Avenger could learn a lesson or two from the Volkswagen GLI in terms of torque.

Utility
Neither the Dodge Avenger nor the Volkswagen GLI has a marked advantage as far as seating capacity.

Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Dodge Avenger than the Volkswagen GLI because of its larger tank. The Volkswagen GLI and the Avenger compete for the same parking spaces. The Volkswagen GLI's shorter wheelbase may produce a less-settled highway ride but a more agile feel in daily traffic than the Dodge Avenger.

The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs about the same to get the GLI to the dealership as the Avenger.
