2014 Dodge Avenger Overview
The five-seat Avenger is related to the Chrysler 200 and is Dodge's entry in the midsize sedan segment. Competitors include the Chevrolet Malibu, Ford Fusion and Mazda6.
The Avenger features a crosshair grille, LED tail lamps, and standard 17-inch steel wheels, 17-or 18-inch aluminum rims available. The V6 models feature dual exhaust tips. Fog lights, heated side mirrors, sunroof, and rear spoilers available.
The interior is fitted with cloth seats with leather upholstery available. Additionally, manual air conditioning comes standard with automatic climate control available. Tilt/telescoping steering wheel with audio controls as well as keyless entry all come standard. The rear seats come 60/40-split and CD stereo with MP3 jack stock. Additional features include touch-screen stereo with music hard drive, navigation system, and Uconnect hands-free phone connectivity.
Under the Hood
The Dodge Avenger Base Model features a 173-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with a four- or six-speed automatic transmission, with a 283-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 with a six-speed automatic engine available. The vehicle comes front wheel drive and runs on regular gas. The R/T trim models come with sport suspensions.
All-disc antilock brakes and electronic stability system come standard to provide vehicle stabilization. Side-impact airbags for the front seats, side curtain airbags, and active front head restraints protect the occupants of the vehicle within – all standard.
