Price Range: $18,000 - $24,510

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs approximately the same to get the Chrysler PT Cruiser to the dealership as the average wagon. Producing an accurate gas mileage evaluation is so hard that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though both the average wagon and the average wagon perform approximately comparably in terms of fuel economy. Regarding fuel economy, the average wagon is a little better than the Chrysler PT Cruiser, but not by much. In terms of MSRP, the average wagon costs tremendously more than the PT Cruiser.

Utility
Neither the PT Cruiser nor the average wagon has a marked advantage as far as seating capacity. The typical wagon is likely a better choice than the PT Cruiser when it comes to hauling capacity, especially if you often need to carry a lot of gear or sizeable animals. Towing is substantially more the average wagon's forte than it is the Chrysler PT Cruiser's.

Convenience
You will have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the Chrysler PT Cruiser than with the average wagon.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the PT Cruiser offers a bit more head room than the average wagon, there really isn't much of a difference. The PT Cruiser provides more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the average wagon does.

Dimensions
The Chrysler PT Cruiser's tank is almost the same size as the average wagon's, though the average wagon's is a little bigger. The Chrysler PT Cruiser and the typical wagon compete for the same parking spaces.

Handling
With their similar turning radii, the PT Cruiser and the average wagon most definitely handle about the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Chrysler PT Cruiser's engine is a bit smaller than the average wagon's, but not terribly so. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the average wagon is considerably more powerful than the Chrysler PT Cruiser. Torque equals pickup, and the average wagon will have picked up and gone by the time the Chrysler PT Cruiser finally gets moving.

Warranty
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the Chrysler PT Cruiser isn't quite as generous as the typical wagon's.
