2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser Overview
The 2009 PT Cruiser incorporates all the elements of a refined classic car with the conveniences and power of a modern five passenger station wagon. Whether you are a hockey mom with a team of children or a jet setter that just loves a little more style, the PT Cruiser once again offers the styling, room and class that made it famous.

While the 2009 version comes in three distinct trims, the convertible style has been discontinued. The LX comes complete with a 2.4-liter (twin-cam four-cylinder) engine that can create 150-horsepower. The engine is controlled by a five-speed manual transmission (four-speed automatic is optional). The Touring trim has the same engine, but the automatic transmission comes standard and the trim boasts leather bucket seats. The upper-class Limited edition also has a 2.4-liter engine under its hood but this engine can harness 180-horsepower, giving it extra power that city drivers appreciate. All trims come with front-wheel drive.

While the PT Cruiser is often compared to the Chevrolet HHR and the Ford Escape, it is considerably less expensive and more stylish. However, the PT Cruiser does get similar fuel efficiency with 21 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway.

Safety features abound in the sporty station wagon. Front, side impact and driver's knee airbags are standard. ABS brakes come standard in the Touring and Limited editions. Halogen headlights light the way, and daytime running lights are optional. A panic alarm, two stage power door unlocks and rear child safety door locks help keep precious cargo safe.

While air conditioning and a 36 month/36,000 mile warranty are included, there are innumerable ways to add even more style and options to the PT Cruiser. Add a 6-Disc CD player, MP3 capability and a UConnect Hands-Free Communication system for just a bit more. Specifically for the 2009 model, Chrysler announced the Dream Cruise Series 5. This car comes in pearl white paint with a black roof and is the ultimate premium trim. The company went all out with a specifically designed grill, interior perks and high-end wheels for this model.

The 2009 PT Cruiser exhibits fantastic design, retro styling and all the amenities that a high minded driver yearns for. Appreciate the breadth of standard features and the infinite options available in the sturdy and stylish station wagon.
