2009 Chrysler Town and Country Overview
Sharing the same platform and equipment as the Dodge Grand Caravan, the 2009 Chrysler Town & Country offers copious amounts of space, ample power and plenty of safety to keep you and your protected at all times. Available in three trim levels – LX, Touring, and Limited – the Town & Country offers excellent fuel economy and a choice of three engines. The LX features a 3.3-liter, 175-horsepower Flex-Fuel V-6 engine that can be run on a E85 ethanol/gasoline blend. The available 3.8-liter, 197-horsepower V-6 gets things moving with 230 pounds-feet of torque for passing. The real highlight, however, is the 4.0-liter, 251-horsepower V-6, which is standard on Limited models, making this one of the most powerful minivans on the market. The Town & Country gets 16-17 mpg in the city and 23-25 mpg on the highway and competes with the Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey and Hyundai Entourage. The standard fully-independent suspension easily handles bumps and rough roads, while the standard Electronic Stability Program helps the driver maintain control during evasive maneuvers. The available ParkSense® Rear Park Assist System uses four ultrasonic sensors to assist with parallel parking maneuvers. A comprehensive airbag package includes dual front airbags, an inflatable knee blocker for the driver, and supplemental side-curtain airbags to protect passengers in a collision. The available ParkView® Rear Back-up Camera provides a view in the navigation screen of what’s behind the vehicle. Advanced multistage dual front airbags and integrated side impact curtain airbags protect passengers in a collision and help attain a 5-star front- and side-impact crash test rating. A variety of seating systems enhance the driving experience, including available Swivel ‘n Go® seating, which allows the second-row captain’s chairs to rotate 180 degrees to face the third row. Along with the removable table, it creates the ideal environment for conversation or board games. Stow ‘n Go® seating is now standard and allows you to shift from a maximum 143.8 cubic feet of cargo space to seating for seven in a snap, with the ability to fold the chairs flat into the floor. The Town & Country boasts the incredibly versatile UConnect® system that can fulfill your digital dreams through a 6.5-inch touch screen. Turn your car into a Wi-Fi hotspot and connect laptops, phones, PSPs, PDAs and play online games, surf the internet and download music. The 30 GB hard drive lets you upload and store up to 6,700 songs, tons of photos and play your iPod/MP3 player through the sound system. Include Sirius Satellite Radio, turn-by-turn navigation and Bluetooth connectivity and you’ve just turned your car into the ultimate entertainment center. The original and arguably still the best, the 2009 Chrysler Town & Country minivan is a wonderful family hauler, offering ultimate flexibility, tons of interior room, and abundant luxury.
