2016 Chrysler 200 Exterior

2016 Chrysler 200 Overview (See Available Styles)

  • Midsize sedan was redesigned in 2015
  • Nine-speed automatic transmission and available all-wheel drive
  • Top Safety Pick+ award winner (with front crash prevention technology equipped)
The 2016 Chrysler 200 returns, still fresh from a comprehensive redesign last year that gave the midsize sedan sleek styling and an upgraded interior. It is offered in six trim levels: LX, Limited, S, and C.

For 2016, the 200 adds a special 90th Anniversary package that is available on Limited models and commemorates Chrysler’s 90th birthday. Also added for the new model year is Siri Eyes Free capability, which integrates your iPhone with the 200 and allows you to perform voice searches and other functions (require iPhone 4S or newer).

From the outside, the 200’s exterior was drastically redone last year and all of those changes carryover. A thin, black grille with Chrysler’s winged logo in the center flows into curved headlight clusters with LED daytime running lights and automatic projector headlights. 17-inch wheels come standard, with 17-19 inch alloy wheels also available, as is a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.

Under the hood, the 200 has two engine options. The base engine is shared with several other vehicles that Chrysler makes, a 184-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder that is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. For those who are seeking more performance, Chrysler’s 295-hp, 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 is optional. The 200 also offers all-wheel drive along with the V-6.

Inside, the 200 features one of the best interiors in its segment with high-quality materials, a modern designed, and lots of useful storage thanks to a floating center console. Standard features include air conditioning, USB port, 60/40-split folding rear seat, and an auxiliary audio input. Also available are leather upholstery, Bluetooth connectivity, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, and heated/ventilated front seats.

The 200 performed very well on crash tests, earning a Top Safety Pick+ award for models with forward collision prevention, the highest honor that the IIHS offers. Standard safety features include eight airbags, antilock brakes, and electronic stability control. All models except for the base LX offer a rearview camera. A forward collision warning system, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-path alerts, lane departure warnings, parallel and perpendicular parking assist, and automatic windshield wipers are all optional.
