2008 Chevrolet Uplander Overview
Billed as a family sport van, the 2008 Chevrolet Uplander offers a large interior, sporty styling, and a wealth of interior appointments. The Uplander is available is two trim levels – the feature-laden LS and the well-equipped LT – both sharing a 3.9 liter V6 engine with 240 horsepower for solid passing power and acceleration. A FlexFuel version of that engine can be ordered, which allows you to run on standard gasoline or an E85 blend of ethanol and gasoline. The standard 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission offers smooth shifting. The Uplander is available in a standard wheelbase or extended wheelbase for extra interior room. A bevy of standard safety features are included, among them four-wheel antilock disc brakes that help prevent wheel lockup and minimize stopping distances. Standard Traction Control helps to limit wheelspin on slippery surfaces or under hard launches. The standard StabiliTrak Stability Control System automatically adjusts engine torque or brake pressure to keep the vehicle stable during emergency maneuvers or quick transitions. The standard Tire Pressure Monitor alerts the driver to any significant changes in pressure. Dual front airbags and seat-mounted side-impact airbags combine with available second-row side-impact airbags to offer excellent passenger protection in a collision. Major amenities include an available power-sliding driver- and passenger-side door for easy entry and exit. An available remote vehicle starter system allows you to start the vehicle with the remote keyfob. The available overhead rail system includes storage for small items and a standard rear entertainment system that includes an 8” monitor, DVD player, headphone jacks, and a wireless remote to please backseat occupants. Available on LT models, the Navigation Radio system includes a full-color touch-screen display and the ability to play a CD and get step-by-step directions on your journey. The available AM/FM stereo and CD player with MP3 playback and new auxiliary input jack offers excellent audio quality and can accommodate your iPod®. For families who want something a little more sporty than the average minivan, the 2008 Chevrolet Uplander is an excellent choice. |
