2010 Chevrolet Tahoe Overview
For big-time towing and hauling and room for the entire soccer team, the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe brings big power and utility to everyday life. Driving the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe is a 320-horsepower, 5.3-liter Flex-Fuel V-8, which is mated to a six-speed automatic. Two- and four-wheel drive systems are available. For 2010, the bigger and smaller V-8 options have been dropped, while the four-wheel drive system now comes standard with a single-speed transfer case or the optional two-speed unit. The 5.3-liter V-8 comes in two versions with exactly the same performance characteristics (one is made of all aluminum so it is lighter). Tahoe delivers fuel economy of 14-15 mpg in the city and 19-21 on the highway, as well as a 1,838-pound payload rating and an 8,400-pound tow rating. Lots of great features are packed into the Tahoe and its four trims: XFE, LS, LT and LTZ models. Seating for up to nine passengers with 109 cubic feet of cargo room is superior to the Ford Expedition and Nissan Armada. Most interior metrics, such as headroom are better than or equal to competitors. The LS model comes nicely equipped with XM Satellite Radio, a CD player and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, while a navigation system and a TV with DVD entertainment system and video game connectivity are optional. The LT model enhances the interior with available heated leather seats. The LT model incorporates a power liftgate and the Z71 off road suspension package - so you can mix it up in the rough. A nine-speaker Bose audio system is available across the model line, while the top-end LTZ offers a ten-speaker Bose surround sound system. For 2010, Chevrolet added USB connectivity, and the Interior Plus Package enhances comfort and convenience with Bluetooth capability, three-zone climate control and rear audio controls. The Texas edition includes a heavy-duty trailer package and a locking rear differential, for the best work-vehicle capability the Tahoe has to offer. Passenger crash safety is handled by a tough truck chassis teaming with dual front, front-side, and three-row head airbags. This team yields Five-Star front impact ratings in government testing. Four-wheel antilock brakes, traction and stability control systems and available rear parking sensors further enhance safety. Power, utility, luxury and safety combine in this big SUV to make the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe a comfortable vehicle not matter the situation.
