2009 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 Overview
The 2009 Chevy Suburban 1500 is a classic full-size SUV.  Famous since the 1980s, the Suburban 1500 has had to change little over the years.   While the 2009 model comes with a six-speed transmission and a host of new bells and whistles, the vehicle remains steadfastly the same reliable, powerful and roomy  (137.4 cubic feet of cargo capacity) SUV that has made Chevy famous.

This nine-seater is available in three trim levels: the LS, LT1 and LTZ.  The standard, LS, trim comes with all the great features historically found on the 1500, including a radio and a 31 gallon gas tank.  The LT1 keeps those amenities and adds 20-inch wheels amongst its features.   Take advantage of the sleekest styling of the SUV with the LTZ.  Purchasers of the LTZ can add a highly stylized grille, customized door handles and a myriad of chrome details.

While the option packages vary on the different trims, all versions come with a formidable 5.3-liter, 310-horsepower V-8 engine.   If you choose the LT1 or LTZ trims, power up by choosing a 6.0-liter, 366-horsepower V-8 engine.  No matter what engine type you choose, both utilize the new Active Fuel Management technology.  This allows the engine to run on ethanol or unleaded gas.  This work horse gets 20 MPG in the city and 14 MPG on the freeway.  All have two wheel or four wheel drive options and come with a six-speed automatic transmission standard.

The Suburban 1500 is a formidable car, and thus has formidable safety features.  The SUV comes with a patented StabiliTrak stability system complete with rollover mitigation. The vehicle's safety system paired with ABS brakes and front and side curtain airbags make it one of the safest cars on the road.  This is backed up by getting rated five out of five stars on the NHTSA Crash Test.

The 2009 Chevy Suburban now only can haul up to nine passengers, but is also reliable, affordable and has amazing options.  Test drive the Suburban 1500 with your spouse, kids and in-laws. There's plenty of space and value to go around.
