Gives Herbie a Run for His Money

This car is a cute little addition to the Chevy line of products. I have a 2016 Sonic LT and its perfect! This car is spacious and taller than your average sedan. Its controls are perfect for any driver of any age. The design is aerodynamic and great for gas mileage. I'm a little disappointed that it isn't a V6, ha, but that's alright. For a 4 cylinder vehicle it carries its own weight well. I have not had any problems in owning this car, and that's saying something because AAA isn't consistent on my phone anymore. Extremely well made vehicle. Did I mention the tires are inexpensive as well! I am also a little sad it does not have navigation but its all good. Perfect starter car for young adults.

I bought the car from someone other than wood calling me from this site. I just went to this site for online quotes not but not contact on the phone. I was called by numerous dealers saying can I help you by your sonic and told them no the car I got with through someone that didn't call me. These sites that want you to give you all the information and say online quotes are not what they seem to be they call you when all you want is internet quotes.

A great little hatchback.

I can highly recommend the 2013 Sonic, and its newer identical brothers. It was time to sell our 12-year-old compact wagon and hunt for a similar American car with even better fuel mileage that had a nice style, preferably made in USA. We were willing to downsize, as long as 5 persons could ride in the car when necessary. The subcompact Chevrolet Sonic Hatchback had most everything we wanted in a car at a modest price. By getting the LT model, we got a perfect list of accessories like power windows and cruise control and alloy wheels with wide tires. We paid extra for the 1.4 liter turbocharged engine with 6 speed automatic transmission. It gets 38mpg in suburban driving in the summer and 30 mpg in the winter. On highway trips it regularly gets 42mpg. Its BEST mileage is at a steady 45mph, where it uses 6th gear and has minor wind resistance problems. We have gotten 50mpg under those conditions. Though it reduces the fuel mileage, when we kick down the accelerator and the turbo instantly engages, the car really zooms. It is absolutely stable on turns and avoidance maneuvers. There is a hidden trunk under the hatch floor. The rear seats lay down almost flat, and interior cargo space becomes very good, like a station wagon. The ceiling is fairly tall, increasing passenger and cargo space nicely. Windshield wipers are very wide-sweeping. The car fits us 2 drivers, 4'-11" tall and 5'-9" tall. Blind-spot and rear viewing is best when relying on the mirrors (outside mirrors are remotely adjustable and heated and have wide-view mini mirrors). Standard radio and disc player have wonderful sound and rich bass. Limited chrome trim gives the car a richer look than some competitors. The car appears most stylish in charcoal gray or black, as moldings and grille and trim are dark gray. There are 10 air bags, including knee, side-curtain and rear- curtain air bags. The car is assembled near Detroit and has about 50% of its parts made in the USA by Union Workers. Bravo! The car has been trouble-free, with 15,000 miles on the clock. Part synthetic "Dexos 1" oil is required.
