Car has great style, but MyLink lacks features

Reviewed by Ohio Driver

I leased a 2016 Malibu LT1. I really like the body style of the car. The 2016 re-design has the look of a higher-end luxury car. My biggest complaint is with the MyLink Infotainment system. The LT1 that I have comes with a 7" MyLink system that is extremely limited. The touch-screen has small screen buttons that are hard to find without looking away from the road. In addition, the Bluetooth interface to my smartphone is extremely limited. No voice dialing or voice commands to play audio. Everything has to be done through the touch screen in order to interface with my phone. This is not a very safe implementation of Bluetooth. Granted, you can hook your phone up via USB and do voice commands using Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, but that is somewhat of an inconvenience to have to hook up the phone via USB when I should be able to do this wirelessly over Bluetooth. Lower end cars provide voice commands over Bluetooth, so why did Chevy leave this out? Likely so that they can get you to sign-up for OnStar cellular minutes, which ironically will provide voice dialing. Although I indicated that I would recommend this car to a friend, it is with some reservation, if they want a car that has a good implementation of technology, which the Malibu needs work in this area.

I love this car. I drove it off the showroom floor and never returned it or drove anything else. The Premier package is awesome.

Malibu Dreams

Reviewed by JamesG
May 13, 2016

The 2016 Chevy Malibu has taken a dynamic move forward from what it used to be. New exterior and interior styling has upped the profile of this new vehicle from the jump. With various model choices and engine selections, there is a Malibu for everyone. My test car really had a comfortable ride, solid power, and tons of drivability. Only complaints while the Malibu is comfortable, offers great tech options and is fuel efficient, the 2.0 could use some more juice. Going in a straight line, I didn't get the feeling that I had over 240 horses under the hood. Otherwise, this vehicle is pretty great. I would recommend anybody looking at purchasing in the midsize segment, give the Malibu a hard look.

Malibu 2LZ Premier

Recently purchased a fully loaded 2LZ Premier Malibu in RED TINTCOAT! WOW! What a great car! Roomy, fast, comfortable and loaded with "gadgets"! This is ALMOST like a self-driving car! :-) I hope that it is as RELIABLE and TROUBLE FREE as my 2013 Buick Verano Turbo Premium model was!
