2009 Chevrolet HHR Panel Overview
In a continually growing segment year-over-year, the 2009 Chevrolet HHR Panel arrives on the compact commercial wagon scene just shortly after its retail counterpart with practicality and added features sure to appeal.

The HHR Panel is available in three distinct trim styles: LS, LT and SS; the latest is new for 2009. A 155-horsepower 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine and five-speed manual transmission is featured on the LS and LT levels, while increased power is available in the form of a 172-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine for the LT. The Super-Sport performance-oriented trim offers 260-horsepower in a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection under the hood, married to a five-speed manual transmission. A four-speed automatic transmission is optional on all trims.

Patterned off the Chrysler PT Cruiser and competing with other compact hatchback commercial wagons within the Dodge Caliber and Scion xB product lines, the HHR Panel removes the rear seats to present a flat, rugged load floor and more than 60 cubic feet of total cargo capacity for added utility. Rear door handles and windows are also deleted for a smooth exterior look that will appeal to both small businesses who wish to position advertising on the exterior and retro enthusiasts alike. And fuel economy is strong, with a gas mileage posting of 19-22 MPG city and 29-32 MPG highway.

Standard features across all HHR Panel styles to pay special attention to include: daytime running lights, MP3 capabilities, tire pressure monitoring system, alloy wheels and a power driver's seat. New for 2009, satellite radio is now included on all trim levels, and SS styles offer Bluetooth wireless connectivity.

The HHR Panel furthers Chevrolet’s dedicated safety resume, with upgraded features this year. Stability and traction control, four-wheel anti-lock brakes and overhead curtain airbags are equipped as standard on all trims.

While a different generation will say the 2009 Chevrolet HHR Panel evokes memories of the American automaker’s 1949 Suburban – one of the market’s first utility vehicles – this small wagon offers value, size and strength for whatever the driving or hauling purpose.
