2014 Chevrolet Express 3500 Overview
Chevrolet's full-size Express is available as a passenger van that seats up to 15 or as a cargo van that, for 2014, seats up to five. The Express is offered in 1500, 2500 and 3500 duty levels. It competes with other full-size vans, including the Ford E-Series, Nissan NV and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. The GMC Savana is closely related to the Express.
The Express 3500 comes with a 135- or 155-inch wheel base, features swing-out rear doors, sliding or swing-out passenger-side door, and flat and convex side mirrors. Additional Express Access Package adds three side-panel storage areas available.
Standard vinyl seats, with cloth upholstery optional, allow for Cargo Vans to have seating for one, two or five. Passenger van trims allow seating for eight to fifteen. Additional options include power front seats, backup camera, Bluetooth cellphone connectivity, bulkhead dividers, and 60/40-split left-side entry/load door
Under the Hood
The Express 3500 is powered by a 310-hp, 5.3-liter V-8 with 334 pounds-feet of torque in four- or six- speed automatic transmission. The fuel tank can hold up to 31 gallons and the 3500 has a 10,000-pound towing capacity.
The Chevrolet comes standard with a variety of safety features for the Express 3500’s passengers and cargo. Electronic stability system, antilock brakes, and side curtain airbags come standard as well as lap/shoulder belts for all center seats. Additional features include rear park assist and backup camera.
