Chevrolet Colorado vs. Suzuki Equator Review

Utility
The Chevrolet Colorado is a better choice than the Suzuki Equator in terms of hauling capacity, especially if you often need to carry a lot of equipment or massive pets. Neither the Chevrolet Colorado nor the Equator has a marked advantage regarding seating capacity. Towing is considerably more the Suzuki's forte than it is the Colorado's.

Dimensions
The Chevrolet Colorado's tank is about the same size as the Suzuki's, though the Equator's is a tad bigger. The Chevrolet Colorado and the Suzuki compete for the same parking spaces. The Chevrolet Colorado's shorter wheelbase may produce a less-settled highway ride but a more maneuverable feel in daily traffic than the Suzuki Equator.

Convenience
The Suzuki Equator's fuel tank will need to be replenished a tad more often than the unit in the Chevrolet Colorado.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs about the same to get the Chevrolet Colorado to the dealership as the Suzuki Equator. The Equator doesn't pale in comparison to the Chevrolet Colorado regarding fuel economy. Producing an exact gas mileage evaluation is so tricky that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though the Chevrolet Colorado is the winner when it comes to gas mileage. The Suzuki Equator isn't much pricier than the Chevrolet Colorado when it comes to MSRP.

Handling
With its tighter turning radius, the Chevrolet Colorado is definitely more agile than the Equator, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the other hand, note that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Chevrolet Colorado has a larger engine than the Suzuki Equator. Note that smaller engines typically get better gas mileage, but smaller engines can be stressed more.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Suzuki Equator offers a bit more head room than the Chevrolet Colorado, there really isn't much of a difference. The Suzuki offers more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Chevrolet Colorado does.

The Equator and the Chevrolet Colorado have the same basic warranty.
