Chevrolet Colorado vs. Mitsubishi Raider Review

Utility
The Chevrolet Colorado is likely a better choice than the Mitsubishi Raider when it comes to hauling capacity, especially if you often need to carry a lot of cargo or large dogs. The Mitsubishi Raider will most certainly prove friendlier than the Chevrolet Colorado for those of you with frequent kid-cargo. Towing is considerably more the Mitsubishi Raider's forte than it is the Colorado's.

Performance
With that kind of horsepower, the Chevrolet Colorado is a genuine speedster. When it comes to horsepower, the Chevrolet packs quite a wallop and will knock the Mitsubishi down a few rungs. However, remember that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Dimensions
The Mitsubishi Raider is substantially heavier than the Colorado. The Chevrolet Colorado's tank is roughly the same size as the Raider's, though the Raider's is a bit larger. The Chevrolet Colorado and the Mitsubishi Raider compete for the same parking spaces. The Colorado's shorter wheelbase may produce a less-settled highway ride but a nimbler feel in daily traffic than the Mitsubishi Raider.

Convenience
You'll quite certainly take the Mitsubishi Raider for a fill-up almost as often as the Chevrolet Colorado.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs about the same to get the Mitsubishi Raider to the dealership as the Chevrolet Colorado. As far as fuel economy, the Chevrolet Colorado is somewhat better than the Raider, but not by much. The Mitsubishi Raider will tax your gas budget substantially more than the Chevrolet Colorado will. The Chevrolet Colorado isn't much less costly than the Mitsubishi Raider in terms of MSRP.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Chevrolet Colorado is quite certainly more agile than the Raider, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; however, bear in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Mitsubishi Raider's engine is significantly more massive than the Chevrolet Colorado's. Remember that bigger engines may use more gasoline than smaller ones. Torque equals pickup, and the Mitsubishi Raider will have picked up and gone by the time the Chevrolet Colorado finally gets moving.

Comfort
The ampler interior dimensions of the Mitsubishi Raider make it more spacious for your passengers than the Chevrolet.

Warranty
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the Colorado isn't quite as generous as the Mitsubishi's.
