Chevrolet Colorado vs. Mazda B4000 Review

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs roughly the same to get the Mazda B4000 to the dealership as the Chevrolet Colorado. Producing a precise gas mileage evaluation is so difficult that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though both the Chevrolet Colorado and the Chevrolet Colorado perform almost similarly regarding fuel economy. As far as gas mileage, the Chevrolet Colorado bests the Mazda B4000. Regarding MSRP, the Chevrolet Colorado costs almost as much as the Mazda B4000 (though the Mazda B4000 is a bit cheaper).

Utility
The Chevrolet Colorado and the Mazda can accommodate the same number of passengers. There's no clear winner between the Chevrolet Colorado and the Mazda B4000 in terms of transporting cargo. The Mazda B4000 outpulls the Colorado by a large margin.

Convenience
You'll quite certainly have to take the Mazda B4000 for a fill-up more often than the Chevrolet Colorado because of its tank size and fuel economy.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Chevrolet Colorado offers a bit more head room than the Mazda B4000, there frankly isn't much of a difference. The Mazda B4000 provides more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Chevrolet Colorado does.

Dimensions
The Mazda's tank is almost the same size as the Chevrolet Colorado's, though the Colorado's is a bit larger. The Chevrolet Colorado and the Mazda B4000 compete for the same parking spaces. The Colorado's shorter wheelbase will likely give a nimbler feel in daily traffic. On the other hand, the B4000 is likely to have a smoother, more stable ride.

Performance
With respect to horsepower, the Chevrolet packs quite a wallop and will knock the Mazda down a few rungs. However, keep in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With its tighter turning radius, the Colorado is quite certainly nimbler than the B4000, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the other hand, keep in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Mazda B4000's engine is considerably more sizeable than the Chevrolet Colorado's. Note that larger engines may use more gas than smaller ones. Torque equals pickup, and the Mazda B4000 will have picked up and gone by the time the Chevrolet Colorado finally gets moving. The B4000 packs quite a wallop compared to the Chevrolet Colorado as far as torque, which is the force that lets you accelerate quickly.

The Mazda B4000 and the Chevrolet Colorado have the same basic after-sale protection.
