Chevrolet Colorado vs. Ford Ranger Review

Performance
With that kind of horsepower, the Chevrolet Colorado is a true sports car. With respect to horsepower, the Chevrolet Colorado packs quite a punch and will knock the Ford Ranger down a few rungs. On the flip side, keep in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With their similar turning circles, the Ranger and the Chevrolet most certainly handle approximately the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Colorado has a more massive engine than the Ford Ranger. Note that smaller engines are often cheaper to fix, but smaller engines can be stressed more. Torque equals pickup, and the Colorado will have picked up and gone by the time the Ranger finally gets moving.

Utility
The Colorado's bigger trunk will accommodate more sizeable objects than the Ford Ranger. Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the Chevrolet over the Ford Ranger. There's no clear winner between the Chevrolet and the Ford in terms of hauling capacity. The Ford Ranger outpulls the Chevrolet Colorado by a massive margin.

Convenience
The Ford Ranger's fuel tank will need to be replenished a little more often than the unit in the Chevrolet Colorado.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Chevrolet Colorado offers a bit more head room than the Ranger, there really isn't much of a difference. The Ford provides more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Chevrolet Colorado does.

Dimensions
The Ford's tank is approximately the same size as the Chevrolet Colorado's, though the Chevrolet Colorado's is a little bigger. The Ford Ranger and the Colorado compete for the same parking spaces.

The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs about the same to get the Ranger to the dealership as the Colorado. In terms of gas mileage, the Chevrolet is a bit better than the Ford Ranger, but not by much. There isn't much of a difference in gas mileage here, but if you must know, the Chevrolet Colorado is a little more economical than the Ford. In terms of MSRP, the Ford Ranger doesn't cost much less than the Colorado.
