2016 Chevrolet City Express Exterior

2016 Chevrolet City Express Overview (See Available Styles)

New/Notable:
  • Based on the Nissan NV200
  • 1,500 pounds of payload capacity
  • Seats two passengers
For those who are looking for a work van but may not be in need of a full-size work van, the 2016 Chevrolet City Express is a smaller solution that is more suited for cities and urban environments.

The City Express is essentially a rebadged Nissan NV200 and makes its debut for Chevrolet this year. There are only two seats up front, the rest of the City Express is left open for cargo and totals 122.7 cubic feet of storage space. Payload capacity is 1,500 pounds.

On the outside, sliding doors on both sides offer easy access to the cargo area. There are also six roof-rack mounting points for added storage capacity on top of the City Express. 15-inch steel wheels come standard, while alloy wheels, tinted rear glass, heated side mirrors, and rear parking sensors are optional.

Under the hood is a 131-hp, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that is mated to a two-speed CVT developed by Nissan. The City Express is front-wheel drive, so don’t expect to be heading off the paved road. Fuel economy figures are pretty good considering this is a work van, with an estimated 24/26 mpg city/highway.

Inside, the cargo area also features six floor-mounted D-rings for securing payloads so they don’t move about the cabin. Cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, and a navigation system with a 5.8-inch touchscreen are all available.

EPA Fuel Economy

  • City: 24 MPG
  • Highway: 26 MPG
