Cadillac STS vs. Lexus IS-F Review

Performance
With that kind of horsepower, both the Cadillac STS and the Lexus are legitimate sportscars.

Handling
With its tighter turning radius, the Lexus IS-F is definitely nimbler than the Cadillac STS, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the other hand, note that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Cadillac STS's engine is significantly smaller than the Lexus IS-F's. Bear in mind that a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder; however, smaller engines are often cheaper to fix. Torque equals pickup, and the Lexus will have picked up and gone by the time the Cadillac STS finally gets moving. The Lexus packs quite a punch compared to the Cadillac STS with respect to torque, which is roughly equivalent to acceleration.

Utility
The Cadillac STS will definitely prove handier than the IS-F for those of you with frequent kid-cargo.

Convenience
The Lexus IS-F's fuel tank will need to be replenished more often than the unit in the Cadillac STS.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Lexus IS-F offers a bit more head room than the Cadillac, there really isn't much of a difference. The ampler interior dimensions of the STS make it considerably more spacious for your passengers than the IS-F.

Dimensions
The Lexus's tank is almost the same size as the Cadillac STS's, though the Cadillac STS's is a bit bigger. The IS-F and the Cadillac STS compete for the same parking spaces. The Cadillac's longer wheelbase will result in a smoother, more stable ride; on the other hand, the IS-F may give a more agile feel in daily traffic.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the Cadillac STS to the dealership as the Lexus. The STS won't save you much money at the pump compared to the Lexus IS-F. Producing an exact fuel economy evaluation is so tough that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though the Cadillac STS is the winner when it comes to fuel economy. The Cadillac STS isn't much less expensive than the Lexus IS-F as far as MSRP.

Warranty
The Lexus IS-F and the Cadillac STS have the same basic warranty.
