Cadillac SRX vs. GMC Yukon XL 1500 Review

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Cadillac SRX is substantially cheaper to get to the dealership than the GMC. There really isn't much of a difference in gas mileage here, but if you must know, the Cadillac SRX is a little more economical than the GMC Yukon XL. The GMC Yukon XL pales in comparison to the Cadillac SRX regarding fuel economy. Regarding MSRP, the SRX costs about as much as the Yukon XL (though the Yukon XL is somewhat cheaper).

Utility
The GMC Yukon XL is likely a better choice than the Cadillac SRX with respect to hauling capacity, especially if you often need to carry a lot of gear or dogs. Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the GMC over the Cadillac. The GMC Yukon XL outpulls the Cadillac by a big margin.

Convenience
You'll definitely have to take the Cadillac SRX for a fill-up more often than the GMC Yukon XL because of its tank size and gas mileage.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Yukon XL offers a bit more head room than the Cadillac SRX, there honestly isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Cadillac SRX offers a bit more head- and leg-room than the GMC Yukon XL, there frankly isn't much of a difference.

Dimensions
The GMC Yukon XL is markedly heavier than the Cadillac. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Yukon XL than the Cadillac SRX because of its larger tank. The Cadillac SRX and the Yukon XL compete for the same parking spaces. The Cadillac SRX's shorter wheelbase will likely give a more maneuverable feel in daily traffic. On the other hand, the GMC is likely to have a smoother, more stable ride.

Performance
With its very low horsepower-to-weight ratio, the Cadillac SRX will knock you back into your seat when you hit the gas pedal.

Handling
The Cadillac and the GMC Yukon XL have approximately comparable tires. With its tighter turning radius, the Cadillac SRX is definitely more maneuverable than the GMC Yukon XL, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the other hand, note that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Cadillac SRX's engine is quite a bit smaller than the GMC Yukon XL's. Remember that a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder; on the flip side, smaller engines are often cheaper to fix. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the GMC Yukon XL isn't much more powerful than the Cadillac SRX. The Cadillac SRX has no lessons to learn regarding pickup from the GMC Yukon XL.

Overview
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the Yukon XL isn't quite as generous as the Cadillac SRX's.

Other
The Cadillac SRX emits fewer smog-forming pollutants per 15,000 miles than the Yukon XL.
