Cadillac SRX vs. Ford Expedition EL Review

Utility
Drivers with frequent child-duty might favor the Ford Expedition EL over the SRX. The Ford outpulls the Cadillac by a large margin.

Performance
With that kind of horsepower, both the Cadillac and the Ford Expedition EL are veritable speedsters. With its super low horsepower-to-weight ratio, the SRX will knock you back into your seat when you step on the gas.

Dimensions
The Expedition EL is quite a bit heavier than the Cadillac SRX. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Ford Expedition EL than the Cadillac SRX because of its bigger tank. The Cadillac and the Ford Expedition EL compete for the same parking spaces. The Cadillac's shorter wheelbase may produce a less-settled highway ride but a more maneuverable feel in daily traffic than the Ford Expedition EL.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs about the same to get the Cadillac SRX to the dealership as the Ford. The SRX isn't much more expensive than the Ford Expedition EL as far as MSRP. Regarding out-the-door cost, the SRX costs about as much as the Ford Expedition EL (though the Ford Expedition EL is slightly cheaper).

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Cadillac SRX is very likely more maneuverable than the Ford Expedition EL, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; however, remember that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Expedition EL's engine is significantly bigger than the Cadillac SRX's. Remember that larger engines may use more gas than smaller ones. The Cadillac SRX could learn a lesson or two from the Ford in terms of pickup.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Cadillac SRX offers a bit more head room than the Ford, there really isn't much of a difference. The Cadillac is not particularly roomier for your passengers than the Ford.

Overview
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the Expedition EL isn't quite as generous as the SRX's.
