2010 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid Overview
When it comes to hybrid SUV’s, they don’t get any bigger or more beautiful than the 2010 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid. This luxury hybrid packs a powerful V-8 and unmatched cargo room into a sophisticated, high-class vehicle. Under the hood of the 2010 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid is a 332-horsepower, 6.0-liter V-8 that is mated to GM’s two-mode hybrid system. The hybrid system features dual electric motors, a continuously variable transmission, and a nickel-metal hydride battery pack. The system recharges the battery pack through regenerative braking. The Escalade Hybrid receives 20 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway, which is competitive with the Dodge Durango Hybrid and Chrysler Aspen Hybrid. The Escalade delivers a great payload rating of 1,373 pounds, and a stellar tow rating of 5,800 pounds. Cargo capacity is unmatched by any other hybrid SUV, as the Escalade offers 109 cubic feet of it; with a little creative packaging, you may be able to fit some of the smaller hybrid SUV’s in the back. Shoulder room, hip room, and front headroom are also unmatched by any hybrid SUV on the market. This SUV’s impressive feature list starts with heated leather seats for eight passengers. A full set of standard power features include: three-zone automatic climate control, interior trim consisting of alloy, wood and leather, a Bose stereo with six-CD changer, XM Satellite Radio with XM NavTraffic, a TV with a DVD entertainment system and video game connectivity, OnStar satellite communications and a DVD-based navigation system. The top-end Platinum model features hand-sewn French seams in the leather trim, heated steering wheel, heated and cooled cupholders, power folding second-row seats and TV screens mounted in the back of the two front headrests. A great blend of safety features includes front and three-row head airbags keeping all outboard noggins intact during collision. Antilock brakes, along with traction and stability control systems, keep the driver in control of this big beauty. In NHTSA testing, the Escalade Hybrid achieved Five-Star front impact ratings; side impact ratings are not available. The 2010 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid blends cutting-edge standard features and a green/efficient engine with its reputable rugged luxuriousness giving you the best of all worlds.
