2011 Cadillac Escalade EXT Overview
Based on the look, style, and sophistication of the Escalade SUV, but with the utility and bed of a truck, the 2011 Cadillac Escalade EXT provides the best of both worlds.
The exterior of the 2011 Escalade EXT might be different than all of the other Escalade’s, but the engine is not. A monstrous 403-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8 cranks out 417 pounds-feet of torque for top-notch acceleration. The 2011 EXT is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and has standard all-wheel drive. Don’t let the sleek looks fool you, the EXT is a beast and can tow up to 7,500 pounds for those who like to take their toys with them to the great outdoors. Fuel economy for the 2011 Escalade ESV is an EPA-estimated 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway, and the Escalade ESV’s engine is also FlexFuel E85 capable. The optional magnetic ride control suspension provides a smooth and responsive ride.
Competition is scarce in the luxury sport utility truck segment, which also includes the Lincoln Mark LT. Available in three trims, base, Luxury Collection, and Premium Collection, the 2011 Cadillac Escalade EXT has the luxury of versatility. The rear cargo bed has 45.5 cubic feet of cargo room, but when the midgate is removed and the second-row seats are folded, the EXT features 101 cubic feet of cargo space giving you enough room to fit just about anything. 18-inch wheels, fog lamps, power/heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and xenon high intensity discharge headlights come standard, while 22-inch alloy wheels, IntelliBeam head lamps, power-retractable assist steps, and a power sunroof are optional.
Seat up to five occupants in two rows of seats in the 2011 Cadillac Escalade EXT. Standard features abound, including: dual-zone climate control, a navigation system, leather-appointed, heated, and powered front bucket seats, a Bose 5.1 surround sound system with eight speakers, leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth® connectivity, and auxiliary input jacks for your iPod. For even more luxury, a heated steering wheel and a rear-seat entertainment system with in-dash DVD player and roof-mounted flip-down eight-inch screens are optional.
Cadillac takes safety seriously, especially in the 2011 Escalade EXT. Side-impact airbags for the front seats, side curtain airbags, Stabilitrak electronic stability system, rollover mitigation system, rearview back up camera, and four-wheel -disc antilock brakes are just some of the standard safety features. The standard OnStar system features automatic crash response, crisis assist and roadside assist just to name a few. When it comes time to take the 2011 EXT into the shop, know that standard maintenance such as scheduled oil changes, replacement of engine and cabin air filters, tire rotations, and more are covered for four years or 50,000 miles.
Enjoy the utility of a truck with the luxury and comfort of a high-end SUV in the safe, powerful, and sophisticated 2011 Cadillac Escalade EXT.
