Standard rear-wheel drive and a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 263-horsepower provide lively acceleration and sporty handling. If you want to go on a power trip, try the direct-injection V6 304-horsepower beast. The 6-speed manual transmission is the perfect choice for enthusiasts who want optimum performance, while the 6-speed automatic transmission features Driver Shift Control with manual shifting capability. Optional all-wheel drive ensures optimum handling in a variety of weather conditions.  Competing against the BMW 3 Series and the Infiniti G35, the CTS holds its own by offering comparable power and fuel economy.  Expect to get 18 MPG city and 26 MPG highway, which is on par with the competition.

The available Ultraview sunroof is one of the largest of its kind, which lets light in for first- and second-row passengers. Audio options include a 40 GB hard drive radio that stores, files, and recalls thousands of songs, as well as an industry-first “pause and play” feature that enables you to pause and rewind live radio broadcasts. The available navigation system boasts an 8-inch screen, voice command, and superior route calculation to guide your way. Available XM NavTraffic™ displays real-time traffic updates, weather conditions, and road closings on the navigation system display, helping to optimize your journey. The new exterior includes stylish taillamps, chrome air extractors, and a revised front grille that creates a sharp, angular profile.

Safety features include standard dual front airbags, dual seat-mounted side-impact airbags, and front-to-rear head curtain side airbags for optimum passenger protection. Standard StabiliTrak® electronic stability control and all-speed traction control assist the driver in maintain control during evasive maneuvers and limit wheelspin during acceleration. Available adaptive forward lighting adjusts inwardly and outwardly to the turn of the steering wheel, significantly improving nighttime visibility.

Building on its robust 2008 overhaul, the 2009 Cadillac CTS proves that it can handle its own against the big boys of luxury.
