2009 Buick LaCrosse Overview
If you enjoy a smooth ride with V-8 power and tons of cargo/passenger space, you are sure to enjoy the 2009 Buck LaCrosse.
Available in four trim lines – CX, CXL, CXS, and Super – the LaCrosse has ample power courtesy of three lively engines. The standard 200-horsepower 3.8 liter V-6 engine supplies adequate acceleration, while the lightweight 3.6 liter V6 engine offers a nice bump up to 240 horsepower with sprightly pickup. With the new Super trim line, a 5.3 liter V-8 engine is offered pumping out 300 horsepower for effortless thrust.
The V-8 also features Active Fuel Management, which deactivates cylinders to save fuel at highway speeds, allowing the LaCrosse to get 16-17 MPG in the city and 24-28 MPG on the highway. The LaCrosse competes with the Mercury Milan and Chrysler 300.
Available 5-passenger leather-appointed heated seats are the perfect wintertime companions. Available magnetic variable-assist power steering adjusts steering effort based on speed, which in turn increases on-road feel. Dual-zone climate control is also available with individual controls for driver and front passenger. Super models add standard Ultrasonic Parking Assist, which uses sonar to detect objects behind the vehicle to make parallel parking a snap.
The LaCrosse also touts Buick’s QuietTuning, which incorporates enhanced tire and exhaust tuning, along with dense acoustic materials to create a very quiet and serene in-cabin environment. Standard OnStar® includes a one-year Directions & Connections plan, which includes: Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Vehicle Diagnostics, Remote Door Unlock, Hands-Free Calling, Stolen Vehicle Location Assistance, Roadside Assistance and RideAssist, which will call you a cab if you are incapable of driving.
Safety features include standard anti-lock brakes with traction control to minimize wheel lockup and enhance traction on slippery surfaces. Dual front airbags, dual side-impact airbags, and head-curtain side-impact airbags protect both rows of passengers in a collision. CXS and Super models feature StabiliTrak stability control that enhances vehicle control and handling in emergency maneuvers.
After a modern redesign last year, the 2009 Buick LaCrosse maintains the classic features such as safety, power and comfort, while looking good.
