BMW X5 vs. Lexus GX 470 Review

Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the Lexus GX 470 over the X5. There's no clear winner between the Lexus GX 470 and the BMW X5 regarding transporting cargo. There's little the Lexus GX 470 can tow that the X5 cannot.

The BMW X5's tank is almost the same size as the GX 470's, though the Lexus's is somewhat larger. The Lexus GX 470 and the BMW X5 compete for the same parking spaces.

The Lexus GX 470's fuel tank will need to be replenished more often than the unit in the BMW X5.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs roughly the same to get the BMW X5 to the dealership as the Lexus GX 470. The Lexus GX 470 pales in comparison to the BMW X5 regarding gas mileage. The Lexus GX 470 uses a lot of gasoline compared to the BMW X5. As far as MSRP, the BMW X5 costs roughly as much as the Lexus GX 470 (though the Lexus GX 470 is a bit cheaper). The Lexus will cost you a lots_of_money in gas every year compared to the X5. The BMW X5 will save you a bundle at the pump every year compared to the Lexus.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Lexus GX 470 is most certainly sprier than the BMW X5, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; however, note that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The BMW's engine is tremendously smaller than the Lexus GX 470's. Keep in mind that smaller engines can be stressed more; on the flip side, smaller engines are often cheaper to fix. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the Lexus GX 470 is considerably more powerful than the BMW X5. Torque equals pickup, and the Lexus GX 470 will have picked up and gone by the time the X5 finally gets moving.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Lexus GX 470 offers a bit more head room than the BMW X5, there honestly isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Lexus GX 470 provides a bit more head- and leg-room than the BMW X5, there honestly isn't much of a difference.

The Lexus and the BMW X5 have the same basic after-sale protection.
