Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the GMC Yukon XL 2500 over the BMW. The Yukon XL 2500 is likely a better choice than the BMW X5 regarding hauling capacity, especially if you frequently need to carry a lot of cargo or large pets. Towing is considerably more the GMC Yukon XL 2500's forte than it is the BMW X5's.

Performance
In terms of horsepower, the GMC Yukon XL 2500 packs quite a wallop and will knock the BMW X5 down a few rungs. On the flip side, note that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Dimensions
The GMC Yukon XL 2500 is tremendously heavier than the BMW X5. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the GMC Yukon XL 2500 than the BMW X5 because of its larger tank. The X5 fits in smaller parking spaces than the GMC Yukon XL 2500. The BMW X5's shorter wheelbase may produce a less-settled highway ride but a more maneuverable feel in daily traffic than the GMC.

The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The X5 is considerably cheaper to get to the dealership than the GMC Yukon XL 2500. The GMC Yukon XL 2500 isn't much less costly than the BMW X5 as far as MSRP.

With their similar turning radii, the BMW X5 and the GMC Yukon XL 2500 definitely handle about the same into and out of tight spots.
