2010 BMW X5
Price Range: $47,500 - $56,200

Handling
With their comparable turning circles, the typical SUV and the BMW X5 definitely handle approximately the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The typical SUV has a more sizeable engine than the BMW X5. Note that smaller engines typically get better gas mileage, but smaller engines can be stressed more. The BMW X5 could learn a lesson or two from the average SUV in terms of pickup. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the average SUV is significantly more powerful than the X5.

Utility
The X5 will quite certainly prove friendlier than the average SUV for those of you with frequent kid-cargo. There's no clear winner between the typical SUV and the BMW X5 in terms of hauling capacity. Towing is substantially more the X5's forte than it is the average SUV's.

Convenience
You will have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the typical SUV than with the BMW X5.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the typical SUV offers a bit more head room than the BMW X5, there really isn't much of a difference. The typical SUV is not particularly roomier for your passengers than the BMW X5.

Dimensions
The typical SUV's tank is almost the same size as the BMW X5's, though the BMW X5's is a bit larger. The typical SUV and the BMW X5 compete for the same parking spaces.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the typical SUV to the dealership as the X5. The typical SUV won't tax your gas budget substantially more than the BMW X5 will. The average SUV doesn't pale in comparison to the BMW X5 with respect to fuel economy. The typical SUV is considerably less costly than the BMW X5 with respect to MSRP.

Warranty
The basic warranty that comes with the typical SUV isn't quite as generous as the X5's.
