Stopping power is provided by 14.2-inch front and 13.8-inch rear cast iron brake rotors riding on floating aluminum hubs. The floating feature reduces rotor warping for greater component durability and performance. Dynamic Stability Control keeps the M3 composed in low-grip situations, as does the antilock brake system. Adaptive headlights pivot with the wheels, to improve visibility into the turn. A complement of airbags and a stiff structure with good crumple zones helps the 2010 BMW M3 achieve Four- and Five-Star impact ratings from NHTSA.
