2014 BMW 528 Overview
The 5 Series lineup includes the Gran Turismo, a tall hatchback built on the 7 Series sedan platform.
New for 2014
Newly optional features include a rear-seat entertainment system with tablet-style displays, selectable ambient lighting and adaptive LED headlights.
The BMW 5 series shares platform with the bigger 7 Series sedan. Standard adaptive xenon headlamps; with full LED headlamps optional, Led taillights, seventeen-inch alloy wheels (528i), with 18- and 19- inch rims available. Furthermore, power sunroof and heated side mirrors come standard.
The iDrive navigation system with 10.2-inch screen comes standard along with Automatic dual-zone air conditioning, ten-way power front seats, and a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel. Additional features include a head-up display, heated and ventilated front seats, rear-seat entertainment system, and Harman Kardon surround-sound stereo.
Under the Hood
Depending on the trim, the 528i is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, pushing 240HP. All-wheel drive and adaptive Drive system available, which includes active roll stabilization, adaptive suspension and customizable settings for the drivetrain and suspension. Additional features include Active Steering which varies the steering ratio to render easier turning at low speeds and stable handling at high speeds and adaptive cruise control which includes full stop-and-go capabilities to manage heavy traffic.
Standard safety features include side-impact airbags for the front seats, side curtain airbags, active front head restraints, antilock brakes, and an electronic stability system. Optional features include blind spot monitoring system, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control with collision warning system.
