2010 BMW 335 Overview
In its fifth year of existence, the 2010 335 is BMW’s entry-level luxury car, available in sedan, coupe, wagon and retractable-hardtop convertible body styles. All styles are loaded with interior comfort and convenience amenities.
The 2010 BMW 3 Series consists of 328 and twin-turbo 335 models in rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations (335 xDrive). The 335 is equipped with a 300-horsepower, 3.0-liter inline-six engine coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission with auto-manual mode or six-speed manual. A diesel engine variation—the 335d—is also offered, and EPA estimated fuel economy ratings for the 335 range between 16-17 mpg in the city and 25-26 mpg on the highway.
Competing with the Infiniti G and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the 2010 BMW 335 remains mostly unchanged from the previous model year, except for the addition of standard HD radio and optional automatic high-beam headlights. Physically, the 335 features an extended hood, and the coupe and convertible get sleeker styling cues than the sedan and have a different front end. Standard exterior offerings include xenon adaptive headlights and 17-inch alloy wheels. A Sport Package adds 18- or 19-inch wheels.
The 2010 BMW 335 seats five in the sedan or four in the coupe and convertible. Standard features include a push-button ignition and automatic climate control. The iDrive system is available with the optional navigation system, while additional options include a sunroof, active steering with speed-sensitive assist, front and rear parking assist monitors, Sirius Satellite Radio and dynamic cruise control, which applies the brakes to maintain a preset speed. The Premium Package adds leather upholstery, Bluetooth connectivity and BMW Assist telematics; the Climate Package adds heated front seats and steering wheel, retractable headlight washers and fold-down rear seats.
The 2010 BMW 335 is loaded with standard safety technologies, including side curtain airbags (coupe and sedan only), side-impact airbags, antilock brakes, an electronic stability system designed to enhance brake performance, and active front head restraints. In government crash tests, the sedan and wagon received four out of five stars for frontal collision protection and five stars for side protection.
For 3 Series fans who crave ultimate performance, cutting-edge technology and classic style, the 2010 BMW 335 will certainly satisfy their appetites.

Fun car

A great car that continues to impress me after 2000 miles. I bought a VW Jetta TDI with a cash for clunkers trade in. It is a nice car, but didn't handle as well as my RWD 1992 BMW 525i that I traded in. BMW offered a $4500 "Eco-credit" so I gave the Jetta to my daughter and ordered the 335d.
We have had a good experience with our 2006 BMW 330i, but this is even more fun. With over 425 ft/lbs of torque, the power comes on strong at low RPMs yet is giving over 32 MPG around town and more on the highway. The 330i gets around 22 MPG in comparable driving in the city and up to 30 MPG on the highway. With the sports package it is very nice to drive.
It only comes as a 4 dr sedan now with a conventional (but well matched) ZF automatic transmission. The Jetta had a nice dual clutch transmission which had a great sport mode. I would have liked the coupe. You have to be careful filling it since Diesel fuel is smelly and not all stations carry it or have the correct nozzles for filling. The car came with an adapter.
I have heard BMW may offer more diesel variations in the future like they offer in other markets. The engine in this model is a good place to start.
