BMW 328 vs. Mitsubishi Eclipse Review

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Mitsubishi Eclipse is significantly cheaper to get to the dealership than the 328. The BMW 328 doesn't pale in comparison to the Mitsubishi Eclipse in terms of fuel economy. As far as fuel economy, the BMW 328 is a bit better than the Mitsubishi Eclipse, but not by much. The BMW 328 is tremendously more expensive than the Mitsubishi Eclipse with respect to MSRP.

Utility
Neither the BMW 328 nor the Mitsubishi Eclipse has a marked advantage regarding seating capacity.

Convenience
The BMW 328's fuel tank will need to be replenished somewhat more often than the unit in the Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Eclipse offers a bit more head room than the BMW 328, there really isn't much of a difference. The ampler interior dimensions of the BMW 328 make it significantly roomier for your passengers than the Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Dimensions
The BMW 328's tank is roughly the same size as the Mitsubishi Eclipse's, though the Mitsubishi Eclipse's is a little larger. The Mitsubishi and the BMW 328 compete for the same parking spaces. The BMW's longer wheelbase will result in a smoother, more stable ride; however, the Mitsubishi Eclipse may give a more maneuverable feel in daily traffic.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the BMW 328 packs quite a punch and will knock the Mitsubishi Eclipse down a few rungs. However, keep in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the BMW 328 is definitely more maneuverable than the Mitsubishi Eclipse, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; however, note that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Mitsubishi Eclipse's engine is significantly smaller than the BMW 328's. Bear in mind that a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder; however, smaller engines typically get better gas mileage. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the BMW is significantly more powerful than the Mitsubishi.

Warranty
The basic warranty that comes with the 328 isn't quite as generous as the Mitsubishi Eclipse's.
