Cost
The Infiniti M45 is tremendously costlier than the BMW 3 Series with respect to MSRP.

Utility
The Infiniti is a better choice than the BMW 3 Series in terms of transporting cargo, especially if you often need to carry a lot of gear or massive beasts.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Infiniti M45 offers a bit more head- and leg-room than the BMW 3 Series, there really isn't much of a difference. The BMW 3 Series is not particularly roomier for your passengers than the Infiniti M45.

Dimensions
The Infiniti M45 is quite a bit heavier than the BMW 3 Series. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Infiniti M45 than the BMW because of its bigger tank.

Performance
Regarding horsepower, the Infiniti packs quite a wallop and will knock the BMW down a few rungs. On the flip side, note that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums. With that kind of horsepower, the Infiniti M45 is a genuine sportscar.

Handling
The Infiniti M45 has markedly larger tires than the BMW 3 Series. With its tighter turning circle, the BMW 3 Series is very likely more agile, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the flip side, note that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The BMW 3 Series's engine is significantly smaller than the Infiniti M45's. Remember that smaller engines can be stressed more; however, smaller engines are often cheaper to fix. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Infiniti M45 is tremendously more powerful than the BMW.

Overview
The basic warranty that comes with the BMW 3 Series isn't quite as generous as the Infiniti M45's.

Other
The 3 Series emits fewer smog-forming pollutants per 15,000 miles than the M45.
