2013 Audi TTS Overview
The 2013 Audi TTS is Audi’s attempt to make the sporty TT into a true sports car.
At first glance, the new TTS is already more grown-up than its predecessor. The new body work is more pumped up, more angular, and even bolder than before. The TTS is available as both a coupe and soft-top convertible. 19” alloys with summer tires for hard, fast cornering are standard, as are automatic Xenon headlights, heated electric side mirrors, and fog lights as standard. Very few exterior options are available, as the TTS is near the top of its range.
As with all Audis, the interior of the new TTS is superbly crafted. With leather seats, tilt/telescoping multifunction steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, automatic climate control, and nine-speaker audio system as standard equipment, the TTS is as well equipped as any other German sports car. The interior is lined in leather, soft-touch composites, and aluminum, with several different combinations possible. The options list includes further accoutrements such as two-tone leather seats, satellite navigation, Bose sound system, and iPod integration.
The new 2013 Audi TTS gets a jumped-up version of Audi’s trusty turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 265-horsepower and a twisty 258 pounds-feet of torque. Paired with the standard dual-clutch six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, both the coupe and convertible will sprint from 0-60 MPH in around 5.0 seconds and go on to a governed top speed of 155 MPH. This engine and transmission combination also returns 23/31 mpg city/highway, regardless of the body style. Audi gives every TTS an adjustable magnetic suspension system and an adaptive rear spoiler for better performance.
The 2013 TTS gets six airbags, traction/stability control, and huge antilock disc brakes as standard safety equipment. The convertible also gets automatically deploying rollover protection. The only option is a rear parking sensor system.
And to think, all of this greatness can be had for less than $50,000.
