2009 Audi TT Overview
Whether you like the top down or prefer a hard-top coupe, the 2009 Audi TT uses unique styling, tight-handling and a plethora of standard features making it a pleasure to drive come rain or shine.
Available in two models, the TT coupe and TT Roadster, the TT has two engines to choose from. A 2.0-liter, 200-horsepower four-cylinder with TFSI direct injection engine comes standard, while a 3.2-liter, 250-horsepower V-6 engine is optional. A six-speed sequential manual transmission S tronic, is standard on base models, while a Quattro all-wheel drive six-speed manual transmission is standard on the V-6. After going through a redesign for 2008, Audi reinforced the use of aluminum in the TT's structure, which not only reduces power-robbing weight but provides more strength than a conventional steel configuration. Although the TT is as unique as a coupe/convertible can get, it competes against the BMW Z4 and Nissan 350Z.
Handling is expected to further benefit from a new multi-link rear suspension, wider track and 19-inch wheels. An automatic rear spoiler deploys at high speed to further improve the TT's behavior. The Roadster features a fully automatic soft-top that extends and retracts in just 12 seconds, while a power mesh wind screen deploys behind the headrests, reducing noise and buffering the wind.
As for the interior, the Audi TT is truly something to behold. Alcantara fabric, 10-way power front seats, brushed aluminum, fully automatic climate control system, and a new, flat-bottomed three-spoke steering wheel are just a few premium amenities. SIRIUS Satellite radio and an auxiliary input jack come standard, while Bluetooth connectivity, navigation system with 6-disc CD changer, and 12-speaker, 8-channel DSP amplifier with 255 watts are optional. The TT's cabin continues the design motifs established in the first generation, highlighted by the round, aluminum-accented dash vents and instruments.
Standard safety features abound with full-size dual threshold airbags and seat-mounted chest side and knee airbags for the driver and front passenger. Antilock brakes and an electronic stability system keep both the coupe and Roadster from losing control.
If you want the bold exterior styling and refined interior appointments with high-tech gadgetry, let the 2009 Audi TT Roadster or coupe blow your mind. .
