2013 Audi S7 Overview
The 2013 Audi S7 is one of the few performance-oriented four-door coupes being sold today, but it’s also one of the best.
The four-door S7 doesn’t really appear to have four doors, with the swooping lines of a coupe and the taut look of a racing car. Think of it as coupe styling with sedan practicality, the backseat passengers will certainly be thankful for those extra doors. The headlights are truly evil with LED tube accents that are Audi’s signature and a power tailgate is standard. Also familiar is the trapezoidal front grille which is slightly modified for the S7 vs. the A7.
The inside of the 2013 S7 is business as usual when it comes to Audi, with elegant styling and upscale materials. The one-piece sport bucket seats are diamond-stitched, coated with leather, and heated; the standard tilt/telescoping multifunction steering wheel is trimmed in leather and controls the audio system. Audi’s MMI system with navigation plus and an eight-inch LCD display is standard, as are a 14-speaker Bose stereo system, automatic climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, and iPod compatibility. The options list offers ventilated seats, Bang & Olufsen sound system, massaging seats, and even a heads-up display for nighttime driving.
Power for the S7 comes from Audi’s 420-horsepower, 4.0-liter V-8 which also outputs 406 pounds-feet of torque and puts its grunt to the ground via a seven-speed automatic. Quattro all-wheel drive and a sporty differential that throws more power to the back are standard, as is an adaptive air suspension. The S7 will power from 0-60 MPH in about 4.5 seconds and returns 17/27 mpg city/highway.
The 2013 S7 comes with eight standard airbags, but can be upgraded to ten (a pair of rear side-impact airbags) if desired. In addition, traction/stability control, antilock disc brakes, and all-wheel drive provide extra safety. There are a few extra safety technology goodies available as options, including lane assist, corner-view cameras, and radar-guided cruise control.
