2013 Audi S5 Overview
The 2013 Audi S5 is a performance oriented coupe/cabriolet designed to take on the BMW 335is and the best of the Mercedes Benz C-Class.
At first glance, the S5 is beautiful; it’s a stunning car especially in person. The headlights blend nicely with the wide, trapezoidal front grill, and the roof flows nicely as you head rearwards giving the S5 a great look in profile. The standard wheels are 18” alloys, but 19” rims are optional. Bi-Xenon adaptive headlights are also optional, but we think the standard xenon’s look great, especially with the signature Audi LED tubing. The Cabriolet version comes with a folding soft-top roof that will operate at speeds up to 31 mph for letting sun and wind in your hair on warm days. A few visual features set the S5 apart from the A5 including quad exhaust tips and unique bumpers.
The interior of the 2013 Audi S5 is serene, with superb build quality and elegant materials, with leather and Alcantara seating surfaces as well as decorative interior chrome inlays. The standard features list is extensive and includes tri-zone automatic climate control, a ten-speaker audio system, Bluetooth connectivity, and a tilt/telescoping multifunction steering wheel are all standard. The options list includes satellite navigation, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, and adaptive cruise control. There are a few special options on the cabriolet, including a comfort package that adds perforated Milano leather seats that are ventilated and offer a head-level heater to keep you warm even with the top down on cool days or at night.
Both the S5 coupe and cabriolet get the same engine – Audi’s brilliant 333-horsepower, supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 with 325 pounds-feet of torque. In the coupe, the engine is available with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the cabriolet only offers the seve-speed automatic. Quattro all-wheel drive is standard. Buyers of the S5 should expect 0-60 MPH times in the five second range and economy ratings of around 18/27 mpg city/highway.
The 2013 S5 coupe gets eight airbags, while the cabrio version gets just six (no side curtains). In addition, the Audi S5 gets all type of traction, stability, and braking technology to keep things on the straight and narrow. There is also some available safety technology such as lane-merge assist technology and a rear-view parking camera.
