2013 Audi S4 Overview

The 2013 Audi S4 is the performance version of the A4 sedan, combining impeccable build quality and advanced technology with great on-road performance.

The exterior of any Audi is always exquisite, with symmetrical lines and creases running down the sides, hood, and trunk. The headlights are sleek and smooth, with devilish LED-tube accents, flanking Audi’s signature trapezoidal grille that is larger than the A4’s. It also gets its own set of bumpers and quad tailpipes to differentiate itself from the standard car. Light 18-inch alloys clad in summer rubber are standard, while 19 and 20-inch alloys with summer tires are optional. Adaptive xenon headlights are also available.

The interior of the 2013 S4 is as stylish and cool as the exterior. Leather and Alcantara seating is standard; so are a sporty multifunction steering wheel, climate control, sunroof, power-adjustable seats, Bluetooth connectivity, iPod connectivity, and a ten-speaker audio system. Options are extensive, including satellite navigation, premium Bang & Olufsen audio system, Sirius XM radio, and push-button start. The S4’s interior, just like its exterior, offers a few visual cues that separate it from the A4 including two-tone sport seats with S4 logos, brushed aluminum accents, and black headliner.

Every S4 comes with the same engine: a 333-horsepower, supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 with 325 pounds-feet of torque. The S4 comes with a choice of two transmissions, a standard six-speed manual and an optional seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is optional. In addition the S4 gets Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system. With the dual-clutch transmission, the S4 is capable of a respectable 4.9 second sprint to 60 MPH, a governed top speed of 155 MPH, and 18/28 mpg city/highway (17/26 with the manual).

The A4 received a “Top Safety Pick” award from the IIHS and a full five star rating from the NHTSA, two designations that should carry over to the S4. Standard safety features include six airbags, traction control, stability control, four-wheel antilock disc brakes, and a reinforced crash cage all come standard. Rear-thorax airbags to protect the sides of rear-seat occupants and a backup camera are optional.
