Audi Q7 vs. BMW X5 Review

Handling
With their similar turning radii, the Audi Q7 and the BMW X5 definitely handle approximately the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The BMW X5's engine is significantly smaller than the Audi Q7's. Bear in mind that smaller engines can be stressed more; on the flip side, smaller engines typically get better gas mileage. The BMW X5 could learn a lesson or two from the Q7 when it comes to torque.

Utility
The BMW X5 and the Audi Q7 can accommodate the same number of passengers. There's no clear winner between the X5 and the Audi Q7 when it comes to transporting cargo.

Convenience
You most definitely won't have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the X5 than with the Audi Q7, as both offer similar mileage ranges.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Audi Q7 offers a bit more head room than the BMW X5, there frankly isn't much of a difference. The Audi Q7 is not particularly roomier for your passengers than the BMW X5.

Dimensions
The Audi is substantially heavier than the X5. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Audi Q7 than the BMW X5 because of its larger tank. The BMW X5 and the Audi Q7 compete for the same parking spaces.

Cost
As far as fuel economy, the X5 is slightly better than the Audi Q7, but not by much. The BMW X5 won't save you much money at the pump compared to the Audi Q7. The BMW X5 isn't much more expensive than the Audi Q7 as far as MSRP.

The Q7 and the X5 have the same basic after-sale protection.
