2009 Audi Q5 Overview
Throwing their hat into the fast-growing and extremely popular SUV/crossover ring, Audi introduces the all-new 2009 Audi Q5 that is sure to appeal to those who enjoy utility and luxury without going too big.

Smaller than the Audi Q7, the Q5 resembles the Volkswagen Tiguan and boasts a 3.2-liter, 270-horsepower V-6 that is mated to a six-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission with Quattro permanent all-wheel drive. The Q5 has 243 pounds-feet of torque, can go 0 to 60 in 6.8 seconds and can tow up to 4,400 pounds. Fuel economy is not the Q5’s forte, but it is adequate with 18 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. The Q5 is set to compete with the Acura RDX, BMW X3, Infiniti EX35, Mercedes-Benz GLK and Volvo XC60.

The Q5 can accommodate up to five passengers and contains up to 55 cubic feet of cargo volume with a load floor that’s over five feet long — long enough to fit four golf bags.  Twelve-way power front seats, leather seating, three-zone climate control and 18-inch ten-spoke V design alloy wheels are standard. A panorama sunroof, power tailgate and 20-inch five-double-spoke alloy wheels are optional.

When it comes to acoustics, you have the choice of three audio systems: the Audi concert radio with ten speakers, the Audi symphony radio or a Bang & Olufsen Sound System. Audi’s MMI features a seven-inch, full-color LCD screen and is powered by a 40-gigabyte hard drive and NVIDIA chip to enhance graphics. Three-D topography, real-time traffic and navigation through audible route guidance and graphics allow you to know exactly where you are at all times. Connect your iPod, make hands-free calling with Bluetooth connectivity and enjoy SIRIUS Satellite Radio.

When it comes to safety, the Q5 is well-equipped. The Audi parking system shows images through the rearview camera, while Audi side assist informs the driver of objects in their blind spots. Driver and front passenger dual-stage and dual-threshold next-generation airbags, driver and front passenger seat-mounted chest side airbags and seat-mounted rear side airbags help absorb the impact of a collision. Braking Guard monitors the space in front of the SUV and if it’s closing in on another vehicle or object, it alerts the driver first with a sound and warning lights and then by jabbing the brake momentarily.

Get the cargo/passenger space and utility that you yearn for without sacrificing luxury and high-tech gadgetry with the all-new Audi Q5.
