2014 Audi allroad Overview
The Audi Allroad, an all-wheel-drive wagon with higher ground clearance and exterior cladding designed to add a bit of ruggedness, returned to the automaker's lineup last year. It's based on the A4 and replaced the A4 Avant wagon. The five-seat Allroad competes against the Volvo XC70.
New for 2014
The Allroad's turbocharged four-cylinder engine gets a horsepower bump from 211 hp to 220 hp. Features of the Convenience Package (Bluetooth connectivity, a HomeLink garage door opener, iPod connectivity and a driver information system) are now standard, and keyless access with push-button start is now included in Premium Plus versions. Prestige models gain manual side-window sunshades.
The Allroad features standard standard 18-inch wheels; with 19-inch wheels available. The 2014 features 1.5 more inches of extra ground clearance, lower bumper and fender cladding in standard matte finish or available body color, and a beautiful panoramic sunroof. Additional options include xenon high-intensity-discharge headlights with LED daytime running lights; adaptive headlights available, and power liftgate.
The interior is equipped with power front seats and a sleek aluminum trim. Available heated front seats with driver-side memory, wood trim, Bang & Olufsen premium stereo, front sport seats, three-spoke steering wheel with shift paddles, and navigation system come as optional features.
Under the Hood
The Audi is fitted with a 220-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine in an eight-speed automatic transmission. Premium gas is recommended for this all-wheel drive road carving machine.
Antilock brakes and electronic stability system come standard as well as side curtain airbags and side-impact airbags for the front seats. Available options include rear-seat side-impact airbags and blind spot warning system.
