2014 Audi A7 Overview
The Audi A7, a large four-door hatchback conceived along the same lines as BMW's 5 Series Gran Turismo, combines a coupelike profile with the comfort of a sedan and the practicality of a station wagon, Audi says. The A7 slots between the A6 and A8 sedans in Audi's lineup. Competitors include the 5 Series GT and Porsche Panamera.
New for 2014
A turbo-diesel 3.0-liter V-6 is a new engine choice for the A7. With 240 horsepower and 428 pounds-feet of torque, the diesel 3.0 TDI model achieves EPA-estimated fuel economy of 24/38 mpg city/highway. A rear bench seat was optional last year but for 2014 it's standard, resulting in seating for five.
The A7 comes standard with 18-inch wheels with 19- and 20-inch wheels available, a power rear spoiler, power moonroof and Xenon high-intensity-discharge headlights. Available LED headlights and S Line ground effects optional for an even sporty feel.
The Audi A7 features spacious seating for 5 with heated leather front seats. Automatic air conditioning and navigation system with Google Earth imagery all come standard. Additional options include ventilated front seats, Bang & Olufsen premium stereo, and heated steering wheel.
Under the Hood
The A7 features engine options include a 310-hp, supercharged 3.0-liter gas V-6 engine (3.0T) and a 240-hp, turbo-diesel 3.0-liter V-6 (TDI) in an eight-speed automatic transmission. Like all Audis, the gas engine uses premium fuel. Standard all-wheel drive and fuel-saving stop-start engine technology (3.0T) with sport suspensions available.
The Audi A7 comes standard with eight airbags, antilock brakes, and electronic stability system. Additional safety features available such as rear-seat side-impact airbags, blind spot warning system, adaptive cruise control with forward collision warning, lane departure warning and prevention, and night vision with pedestrian detection.
