2012 Audi A7 Overview
Taking cues from the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo and the Porsche Panamera, the all-new 2012 Audi A7 Sportback is the next step in Audi’s evolution of style.
The 2012 Audi A7 seats four and features one dynamic engine: a 310-horsepower, supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 that generates 325 pounds-feet of torque, which pushes to the A7 to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds. Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive is standard as is an eight-speed automatic transmission with auto-manual mode.
Fuel economy is 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, which is quite good considering the A7’s power and acceleration. Audi’s Drive Select feature allows you to adjust the suspension based on what kind of mood you are in. Choose between Comfort, Auto, or Dynamic modes to alter the steering, transmission shift characteristics, and throttle response.
Available in three trims (Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige), the all-new A7 slots in between the A6 and A8 sedans. Labeled as a five-door coupe, the A7’s low-sweeping roofline, large multi-blade grille, curved LED headlights, frameless windows, and integrated rear spoiler, give it a never seen before look. Seven-spoke, 18-inch wheels come standard, while 10-spoke, 19-inch wheels; five-double-spoke, 19-inch wheels and ten-parallel-spoke, 20-inch wheels are optional.
Audi’s MMI touch system allows for handwritten inputs via your finger and the touchpad, which is located in the center console. Use your finger as a mouse to control radio stations, scroll though maps in the navigation system or dial your Bluetooth-enabled phone. A Bang & Olufsen sound system features 15 speakers that produce an astonishing 1,200 watts for a complete audio experience. Heated leather upholstery, eight-inch high-resolution display, power front seats, and a moonroof are standard. Four-zone climate control system and ventilated front seats are optional.
In terms of safety, the 2012 Audi A7 has the standard features as well as the high-tech gadgetry to keep you protected. Antilock brakes, an electronic stability system and eight airbags are standard, while adaptive xenon headlights, six more airbags, adaptive cruise control with forward collision warning, a blind spot warning system, and a night vision assistant that provides animal and pedestrian detection are optional.
Everything you could possibly want in a car, including luxury, advanced technology, and speed, is brought together in the all-new Audi A7.
