Audi A6 vs. Volvo XC70 Review

The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the Audi A6 to the dealership as the Volvo XC70. Regarding gas mileage, the Audi A6 is a little better than the Volvo XC70, but not by much. Producing an accurate gas mileage evaluation is so difficult that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though the Audi A6 is the winner regarding gas mileage. In terms of MSRP, the A6 costs significantly more than the Volvo XC70.

Utility
Neither the A6 nor the Volvo XC70 has a marked advantage as far as seating capacity.

Convenience
You'll most certainly have to take the Volvo for a fill-up more often than the A6 because of its tank size and gas mileage.

Comfort
Taller drivers will significantly enjoy the extra head room in the XC70's front cabin compared to the Audi A6. The Audi A6 is not particularly roomier for your passengers than the Volvo XC70.

Dimensions
Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Audi A6 than the Volvo XC70 because of its larger tank. The Volvo XC70 and the Audi A6 compete for the same parking spaces.

Handling
With their similar turning radii, the Volvo XC70 and the Audi A6 definitely handle about the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Audi A6 and the Volvo XC70 have similar-sized engines, with a slight advantage to the Volvo XC70. Torque equals pickup, and the Audi A6 will have picked up and gone by the time the Volvo XC70 finally gets moving. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the A6 is significantly more powerful than the Volvo.

The Volvo XC70 and the Audi A6 have the same basic after-sale protection.
